The latest patch 1.02 has finally arrived for Assassin's Creed Revelations, and it comes with one minor but important improvement: the crack. This little bit of extra functionality will allow all the game's original features to be unlocked, as well as make future patches redundant. Now is the perfect time to upgrade your game - if you haven't already - so that you don't go travelling through history without being able to navigate around if you're low on energy or just want to fight a few more battles in Venice before heading back into multiplayer. Assassin's Creed Revelations has received a rather mixed reception from critics, with a Metacritic score of 73/100. IGN gave the game a very low score of 3.0, calling it "abysmal", and saying "This is a fundamentally broken game that needs to be fixed". GamingInformer gave the game an even lower score of 2.5, deeming it "disappointing" and concluding that if you want to play as Ezio then this is not the title for you. In contrast Eurogamer's Patrick King awarded this game 8 out of 10, stating that ""AC:R" sets new standards for open world action-adventure gameplay". GameSpot has also awarded the game 8.5. The story is centred on Ezio's quest to find Altaïr's library in Masyaf, before a larger plot is unveiled in later games. The search leads him to Constantinople, where a civil war is rising between the forces of the Ottoman Sultan and a Byzantine remnant, led by Prince Ahmet. Ezio is forced to ally with Prince Ahmet and aid him in overthrowing his father, Selim I. In return with helping free Constantinople from Ottoman control, Ahmet will search for Altaïr's library within the Sultan's palace with his men. Ezio is then forced to aid Ahmet in overthrowing the Sultan. The game features a variety of new features over past installments, including land and water vehicles (the first for the series), local multiplayer for up to four players, an extensive amount of "hundreds" of story missions for single-player play, and two extra multiplayer game modes called "Brotherhood" and "Confrontation". Each focuses on fighting Templar targets who are considered especially dangerous. There are also four multiplayer game types: Team Deathmatch, Conquest, Capture the Bag, and Clash. On October 8, 2010 Ubisoft announced that they would open all servers to the public by November 1 at 12PM Pacific Time.
